People being angry about ~dem gays~ on Target’s Facebook.

I just want to give my two cents on this and tell you a story.

A couple weeks ago, I was hired at Target. I have a job at Target. Not a big deal right?

It is a big deal because i’m a transman

It doesn’t take a genius to conclude that it’s hard for me, my brothers, and sisters to get a job. There are legal restraints regarding the job and if you don’t pass, it’s hard to be taken seriously at a job interview.

Right on the application, it asks what your preferred name is. It also asks if there is anything that target should know. I put the fact that I am a transman, expecting not to get a call because usually when you put that down, people will throw out the application. I got TWO interviews.

At the interview, they asked me about it. I told them I am on hormones and they told me that they didn’t care. Not in the sense that they don’t emotionally care, but that it didn’t matter. I was male and that’s all that mattered. They also told me that they give sex same couples benefits in states that do not recognize them as a married couple.

At my job orientation, I was not misgendered once. Even my supervisors who weren’t sure of my gender avoided pronoun use, which I found only happens when you’ve had pronoun training. They gave me a name tag with my preferred name and didn’t ask questions. I felt safe and respected, which is huge for a trans* person.

TLDR: Target is amazing not just for the LGB, but also the T. Shop there for the rest of your life.

Whelp, I’m buying everything from Target.

Anonymous asked: Hey, I'm Motaz, a gay Ex-Muslim. I really like the Baha'i faith, yet I want to know the exact position of Baha'i faith on being gay. I don't do anal sex so are other things between two consulting adults acceptable? Do you think a Baha'i man can ever marry another man?. Can you give me the Baha'i texts regarding homosexuality? Thanks very much.

I must say Motaz that there is nothing wrong with anal sex between two loving partners. I am glad though that you are interested in the Faith. I am only using a phone right now, but will reply more comprehensively as soon as possible. Until then, I encourage you to look at the links on my blog and do some research by googling homosexuality and the Baha’i Faith. Much love and peace being sent your way!!

iwantyonanas asked: I'm assuming you are a practicing Baha'i. Do you find it difficult to be a part of your local Baha'i group? If so, is it possible to practice the faith without connecting with the group as a whole?

Yes I find it difficult to be around people who subconsciously or consciously see me as inferior. And even those who don’t, hesitate to support when and where they should. However it is a personal decision. Disappearing and going away is what the worst of them want. Choosing to stay is a form of non-violent demonstration. Luckily I live in a relatively gay friendly part of the country.

Anonymous asked: where are you from?

No identifying information will be given due to the Baha’i Faith’s practice of taking away people’s voting rights and membership in the Faith for actively supporting LGBT rights. Get off anon if you’re really an LGBT Baha’i supporter.

Put all your beliefs into harmony with science; there can be no opposition, for truth is one. When religion, shorn of its superstitions, traditions, and unintelligent dogmas, shows its conformity with science, then will there be a great unifying, cleansing force in the world which will sweep before it all wars, disagreements, discords and struggles – and then will mankind be united in the power of the Love of God.
